Become a Member of Friends of the Library. Your membership helps pilot new library programs and services that make our County's libraries a great resource and a positive experience. Members receive special advance invitations to Friends of the Library events, including book sales, and a subscription to our quarterly newsletter.
Friends of the Library is a not for profit organization and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The more you give, the greater impact the Friends can have helping libraries.

The Friends are a volunteer organization and are always looking for people interested in spending a few hours at their local library. Your time is invaluable to us and we appreciate your willingness to be part of this great organization.
Consider volunteering your time for:
- Semi-annual book sale-set up, pricing books, working the sale
- Assist at special events and programs
- Maintaining the Book Store at your local library
- Be part of the Library Lions Writing Competition committee
- Assist with the Smithsonian exhibit Journey Stories

While we hope that you will join Friends of the Library, we also hope that you will consider us for other donation opportunities.
In addition to donating your time and new or gently used books, movies or music for the Library, you can honor or remember your friends and loved ones through Friends of the Library. A gift to Friends provides a lasting legacy, creating programs, providing aquisitions, and making memories for people throughout Kootenai and Western Shoshone counties. You can donate in someone's honor to the county at large or specify a branch or program.
If you are looking to make a longer-term investment, you can choose a planned gift option. Planned giving makes an enduring positive impact on the people around you. Friends of the Library works with the KSA Library Foundation to assist you in your giving options. Please contact us for more information on long-term giving through a bequest, charitable gift annuity, insurance or retirement plans, pooled income, or charitable trust, each of which have different tax-deductions available.
