Volunteers are the very heart and backbone of the Friends. Their work at the fall and spring book sales is an essential part of our success. If you would like to join us and support your library, please pick up a membership form at your local library branch or drop in at our next meeting.

MONTHLY MEETINGS are held on the second Tuesday at 2pm in the Hayden Library Meeting Room. The library is located at 8385 N. Government Way in Hayden.

Money raised by the Friends benefit all the KSAL branch libraries. Grants have included the following support:

• Summer Reading Programs for Children
• Author Visits
• Smithsonian Traveling Exhibits & Events
• Inclement weather book protection sacks
• Flag pole at Hayden Library
• Bookmobile GPS system
• Furniture & equipment
• Library outreach picnic St. Vincent de Paul Transitional Housing Shelter
• Grant money for library staff attendance at Public Library Association Conference spring 2008

DONATIONS

Donations may be dropped off at any branch library. We gladly accept any of the following items (adult and children's materials.)

• Computer software (newer than 2000)

• Posters
• Comics

* Items must be clean, dry and without mold. Books must have covers. Donations are tax-deductible

The Friends of the Kootenai-Shoshone Area Libraries is a nonprofit group open to library patrons who believe in the importance of reading, listening, and viewing information. We strive to stimulate public interest in the library, purchase library materials, and support cultural and educational library programs

Support the Friends by shopping at THE BOOK STORE -- open daily in the Hayden Library lobby. Our inventory of used books and other items changes frequently.
